Deliverance of Youth in Bondage!
The following is a reprint of an article as written by our former General VLB coordinator, Sharon Griffin. It first appeared in our official publication, The Evening Light in the September 2006 issue.
Have we recently taken a good look at the world where we live?
Consider the following statistics:
The average teenager listens to 6 hours of Rock-n-Roll music per day.
3.2 million of the 13-17 year olds in America today have a seious drinking problem.
41% of High School seniors have used marijuana. Among illegal drug use, marijuana useage is increasing faster among high school students.
Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among youth ages 15-20. The strongest risk factors are depression, substance abuse and agressive behavior.
In the USA estimates indicate that, after puberty, 5-10 million girls and women and 1 million boys and men struggle with eating disorders.
41% of fouth graders report that thet diet, either sometimes, or very often.
Homicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among 15-24 year olds overall.
80% of students have consumed alcohol by the end of high school.
In 1960 the greatest influences on 13-19 year olds, were in order, family, school, friends, and church. In 1980 the top four in order were, friends, family, the media, and school, church dropped out of the top 4.
The above facts and figures reveal how society is declining among the youth, in particular, and how satan is binding the youth. A Ministry of the VLB department is to win other youth to Christ and His Church. Will the young 'Timothys" of this present generation accept the challenge to rescue young souls before it is too late, and before that young person becomes "another statistic"? Rise up and dare to be strong among your peers and classmates! Gods grace will enable you to do great things in his name and in His power. God desires to break the bands of sin, death and addiction and to set hearts free in His name. Take the message that the Deliverer has come and a way has been made!
A popular commercial usses the catchy phrase, "Dominos Delivers". We spread the the word that "God Delivers", when He comes knocking, "Just get the Door"!
"Thou therefore, my son, be strong in grace that is in Christ Jesus". (2nd Timothy 2:1
"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be soldier". (2nd Timothy 2:4)
The Rapture
The rapture is not a fantasy or a lie as satan would have you believe. It is real and will take place without notice, in a moment in a twinkling of an eye. We must be ready for we know not when it comes. You see, we, thru the Bible are given tell-tell signs as to when the rapture will be, but no one except, God knows the exact time or day. We must be vigilant, we must be on guard, we must be about our fathers business. We cannot afford to go spiritually asleep even for one second, because in that second, BAM! Jesus could rapture the Church away. Want to miss it?
Me either! I don't want to be hear one second after the Church is raptured away, when satan is allowed to take control of this earth. There will be no power to stop him. My friends, if you cannot live for Christ now, how can you ever believe you will live for Him after The Church and the Holy Ghost is gone.
